Treasures of the Past

So often we take life for granted! So often we go along our daily activities, blind to what God has blessed us with. So often we are in search of what we already have in our life that we forget to stop and really see what is important!

I was able to pull up this old video that our friend put up on YouTube for us years ago (Thank you Samm!) Seeing this old video of our daughter Kailee when she was only 4 years old makes me realize just how quickly life goes by. The only thing that truly should give us joy, peace and happiness is God, family and friends in that order.

I am remembering even now as I write just how many wonderful memories my family have put in our lives together. My mental book is being written everyday I get to spend on earth with my family, learning about God, and all of the crazy things I did when I was a child all the way up until I became a responsible father and husband.

Although I don't think we should ever forget to be childlike!

I sat down just about an hour ago watching our daughter Kailee who is in the video now taking roller skating lessons. Watching the smile on her face while she skates around the rink trying to dance as best she can to music playing on the speakers. I realize just how lucky I am to have such a wonderful daughter, step daughter, wife and family.

There are so many pages that have been written and so many more that are blank just waiting to be filled with new and exciting memories. I can't wait to turn the page and see what is next! Remember to see what is around you before you miss it! Before I know it my kids will be grown and out of the house, I dread those days are soon coming faster than I care to admit!

So hold on, shut up, sit down, and have the time of your life with God as the driver and your family in the back seat of this great thing we call......Life!

God Bless and Have Faith!

Time Management

Okay, do you ever get the feeling that you are walking a thin line that you feel is about to snap and you tumble into the deep abyss. My wife has even threatened me with the actual words of divorce if I cannot find the time for her and the kids. I have gone to counseling at our church to talk about trying to give more to my wife and kids. I know it is a burden that I have put on my loving wife who has to take care of practically the entire house while I am away. If I am to be a successful husband and father I must put them before anything else. Life just keeps getting more interesting doesn't it!

Time Management, just say those two words to yourself! TIME MANAGEMENT! It is more important than you think. My work is always tugging on my shirt sleeves asking me for one more thing, can you make a phone call and take care of this, here is a problem I need you to take care of, send this email out, fly out and work out of the state for 3-5 weeks with no advanced warning. It is a never ending stream of stuff that can bog you down so quickly you will sink in it.

My goal is to find ways to manage my time with my family while still giving enough time to my work to accomplish what is needed, not wanted. I have such an unpredictable schedule I can't seem to find the regular hours I need to give my wife and kids the time they want and need so desperately from me. "God. please give me the strength and patience to get through these trying times".

I would love to hear back from anyone who is going through the same trials and tribulations that I am so I can find some peace. I would love to have an average 8-5 job that would give me the time to really get back to basics and bond with my family again. I love my wife and kids so much that I would quit my job in a second to show her how much I love her, but what would that accomplish. That would just make the situation worse. I have to find that fine line of work and home and try to repair that fine line into a steel anchor chain that can not be broken by anything.

Well I hope to hear from anyone who is going through the same thing I am. For now God Bless and be safe in this ever changing world!
