TGIF!!!

High School Vacation Bible Camp!

Caitlyn is off to have a great Time and learn more about the Lord!

Well we just watched our daughter drive off in two beautiful Charter Buses for Vacation Bible Camp up in Big Bear, CA. You looked so happy to go with some of your friends from school. I hope you have a blast and become closer to God through his word! This is the first time you have been to a real camp and on a real Charter Bus for that matter. When Mom called you on the phone you actually were so surprised when you found out there were bathrooms on board! I know all all of your friends got a chuckle out of it (a harmless chuckle). I am sure you will have a great time

So go have a blast, learn, live, laugh and love! Take lots of pictures and we will see you on Monday!

Great looking girl. I had no idea you were Kat's husband. You are blessed more than you know. As am I.

Steve,

I too got so involved with watching all the youth pastors interacting with all these teens and they honestly look like they are going to have some much fun. Where was this when I was growing up?

Air conditioned, private charter buses with TV's? I will never forget Cait's comment either, it's just like a plane but without wings and flying and that is has a bathroom on board. Can you believe it mom, a bathroom? You know I am going to have to check it out.

When we called to ask her if she wanted to come home yet after departing from the church she paused and then said, Ummm, NOPE!

She said so far it was the best part and they aren't even at camp yet. Plus her counselor gave her a bag with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Big Red Gum and a Journal in it. Now that is one incredible counselor!

The best part for me, was praying for all these teens in the church before they parted. At least we know God is going with them.

Thank you for being so patient and staying for an hour before the buses left. We got to met our Pastor for the first time and shake hands with him. That was way cool in a church that size and his daughter is in Caitlyn's group too!

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

That's amazing. Praying for the Lord to keep them safe and may they all learn a lot from Him during this wonderful time. Have a great weekend to all of you. God bless.

Each time my teenagers go off on their own for whatever it is they are going off for, I can't help thinking that the day grows closer that I will be waving goodbye for good...not that we won't always be close and have lots of visits but that I will be turning them over to someone else's care.

I do wish you and my dear Allen could meet. I know that you would be buddies. Except that he will never venture around in blog world, even if he could manage the time. He reads my blog each day and loves to hear about those I read but the whole idea of blogging still confounds him. Enough of that little bunny trail.

Point is, you all share so many interests and view points...I think you would get along as well as your dear Kat and I would.

This is a neat idea, Vacation Bible Camp. Is it like a regular Bible camp? I know they study the Bible, but what else do they do? Age groups that go? I'm anxious to learn about any good ideas for youth work. Thanks.

I remember those days. Our church in the summers use to go to Billy Graham's retreat in the Mountains at Gloriatta. We would sing, pray, hike and study the bible together.

Church friendships are ties that are not easily broken. And isn't that what faith is all about? Experiencing a personal relationship not only with our Heavenly Father who loves us deeply but also its about us sharing that love with each other.

I hope you and Kat have labor free Monday!

Hope she has an inspiring, heart touching, life changing time.

Hi there, I happened over here from Kat's blog, Arts Chili Pepper, and I just wanted to say hello.

It's nice to "meet" you. I would love for you to stop by Grace Talk and say hello sometime :)

Being Loved by Him, With You,
Daveda

It's so hard to see our precious children grow up. She's doing something for the Lord and that says a lot about her parents. Rest assured she is in good hands (God's Hands).

Happy labor day,

Bible Camp... loads of incredible memories there! I went to a Christian High School, and every fall we went to The Wilds, a Christian Youth Camp in North Carolina. EVERY year I came back more in love with our God! EVERY year I learned more about myself as a Christian youth... Your daughter will come back touched in her soul in ways neither you nor Kat could imagine, and better than that, most of those touches will become more and more visible as your daughter grows in her relationship with Christ! How exciting that she is able to experience this! I will be remembering her in my prayers! Can't wait to hear how it went!

She looks so ready and happy to be going! And it sounds like you do much better sending your daughter off on a bus then when I send my son, LOL!!

She is just precious and it is pretty much a guarantee that she will be closer to God through this experience! I remember going on a Missions trip to Jamaica. I remember all the people saved and the work we were doing...really makes you think about what you do at home!

Thanks for your comment on the 5 moms blog today!!!

Really great to meet you. You have an awesome blog and looks like a wonderful family!
God Bless - Tarah
